Awards Guidelines – 2009 – (Developed January 2003)

** Please note that these are guidelines for the process and are not hard and fast rules. There needs to be some flexibility.

John and Marguerite Condon Lifetime Achievement Award

Criteria

1 – Nominee(s) must be a member of the Beverly Democratic City Committee.
2 – Award given as appropriate, but not more that every other year, in the odd years (after a statewide of national election). May not be awarded if circumstances dictate.
3 – Nominations submitted in writing by any member of the BDCC.
4 – Members of the Executive Committee are eligible, but must step aside for the selection process and allow alternate (vice-chair) to participate in selection.
5 – Nominees should have 20 years of service/membership.
6 – Nominees must have demonstrated exceptional levels of service and commitment to the BDCC, the Democratic Party, statewide or national democratic causes, emocratic candidates and /or served as an elected democratic official.

Selection: Executive Committee reviews nominations and selects award recipient(s).

Outstanding Service Award

Criteria
1 – Nominee must be a member of the Beverly Democratic City Committee.
2 – Award to be given out every other year, in the odd years (after a statewide or national election).
3 – Nominations submitted in writing by any member of the BDC.
4 – Members of the Executive Committee of the BDCC are eligible for nomination but if nominated will not take part in selection.
5 – Based primarily upon the last two years of service, partisan political activities only, ie not a city council race.
6 – Based upon active campaign work (phone banks, visibility, literature drops, mailings, office support.
7 – Based upon contributions of time and effort to the BDCC and Democratic causes and candidates.

Selection: Executive Committee reviews nominations and selects award recipient(s).
